Privacy Policy

Convincing (“we”, “us”) is an interview-practice app operated by avalonOS. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using convincing.app you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Your email address — to sign you in (we use a passwordless “magic link”) and to email you your report.
• The job description and résumé you provide — to tailor the interview and scoring to the role.
• Your spoken answers — your microphone audio is captured while you answer and is processed to produce a transcript and delivery scores (see §3). We store the resulting transcript, scores, and feedback; we do not retain the raw audio recording.
• Your scores and reports — content and delivery scores, written feedback, and progress over time, so you can track improvement across sessions.
• Basic technical data — a secure, HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in, plus standard request information (e.g., IP address) handled by our infrastructure provider for security and abuse prevention.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above only to run Convincing: to authenticate you, conduct the interview, score your answers, generate your report, email it to you, and show your progress over time. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your interview content for advertising.

3. Service providers

We share data with a small number of providers strictly to deliver the service:

• Microsoft Azure — Azure Speech transcribes your answers and computes delivery (pronunciation, fluency, prosody, pace, pauses); Azure OpenAI (a GPT model) scores your answers’ content and drafts your report. Your job description, résumé, and answer text are sent to these services to perform that processing.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site and our backend, stores your account and results, sends your sign-in link and report email, and provides bot protection at sign-in via Cloudflare Turnstile (see below).
• avalonOS / Kinetar SDK — renders the 3D interviewer avatar and provides its speech.

4. Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on our sign-in form to verify that you are a human and to protect against automated abuse. Turnstile may collect device and browsing information for this purpose. Your use of Turnstile is subject to the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies

We set a single essential cookie — an HttpOnly, Secure session cookie — so you stay signed in. It is required for the app to function and is not used for tracking or advertising.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your account, job description, résumé, transcripts, scores, and reports so you can revisit them and track progress. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see §9); we will delete it within a reasonable period.

7. Security

Sign-in links and session identifiers are stored only as hashes, traffic is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to operating the service. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children

Convincing is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16.
